This week's Friday finds...
Faber-Castell Gelatos
This kit includes some other goodies to get you started creating mixed media art. They are in what looks like Chapstick containers, and have a creamy texture. You can color with them like crayons, and even add water for a watercolor effect. They can be used in many ways, so search for Gelatos techniques on youtube if you're interested. They can be purchased at Scrapbook.com, Michaels, in sets at Hobby Lobby, and various other stores.
Rub-ons (like these, these, and these)
They are like stickers, but I prefer the look of rub-ons. The letters are really handy, because you can create words/phrases by cutting out the individual letters you need. To apply them, you use a popsicle stick to rub them onto your scrapbook paper. They can also be placed over photos. (There are even rub-ons that resist Gelatos, distress inks, etc. so you can create cool effects with them.)
For stamping, I think a good cleaner and stamp cleaning pad are a must. I used to own a Rub It Scrub It Pad.
It does a great job of removing ink from recessed areas on stamps. (I have a different pad that I don't like as much right now, but plan to replace with this kind eventually.) If you use Archival Ink, then Archival Ink Remover is a good choice. (Some other types of ink are water soluble and much easier to remove.)
